Welcome to the Participant Hub

We’re excited to have you here!

We're trialling a new way to reduce waste and you're one of 3,000 properties to be part of it.

We'll work together to transform the norm by helping you to put all food scraps into your food and garden organics (FOGO) bin instead of your rubbish bin.

Taking food scraps out of landfill means we can create more compost to help grow the food we eat.

To help do this, we're going to trial collecting your general rubbish bin every 2 weeks, starting in July 2025. There will be less waste in your rubbish bin, so it won't need to be emptied every week.

We notified households and businesses in trial areas at the end of November 2024 by mail.

On this page you can:

  • Find out more about the trial and
  • Learn how fortnightly rubbish collections may impact you.

Different households have different needs

Smaller and larger bins are available for different households and businesses to help meet your needs.
