We’re excited to have you here! We're trialling a new way to reduce waste and you're one of 3,000 properties to be part of it.
Starting 1 July 2025, we're going to trial collecting your general rubbish bins every 2 weeks.
It's costing more to send waste to landfill, so reducing waste to landfill is more important than ever before. This trial aims to help keep landfill and collection costs (which make up your waste charge) low for the future.
By putting even more food scraps into food and garden organics (FOGO) bins instead of rubbish bins, we can save you money and create more compost to help grow the food we eat.
We’ll support you through the trial as we work together to ‘transform the norm’.
We notified households and businesses in trial areas at the end of November 2024 by mail. We sent another letter in February 2025 inviting most households to choose their rubbish bin size for the trial.
