What we heard

In the second phase of engagement, we asked the community for feedback on the draft concept plan. We had 66 submissions that we have considered in the final plan. Thank you for your sharing your thoughts!

We received a lot of positive feedback on the design. People were happy with the additional park furniture and landscape treatments.

We heard many comments about the removal of the playground equipment from the reserve. While we acknowledge the strong feelings in these comments, the removal of the playground has been clearly stated as a non-negotiable throughout the process so it will go ahead.

We have heard that play is highly valued so we have tried to reflect that in the new design:

  • We have added nature based features into the plan like imaginative arrangements of native timber logs and natural stone.
  • Near the park entry is a natural log installation that provides opportunities for climbing and stepping.
  • There is a stone circle set in a native bush garden that can be used for clambering over or to enjoy a restful few moments near the Moonee Ponds Creek.
