What we heard

In phase 2 consultation we heard concerns that the microbe design theme may be interpreted as a virus rather than pollen as was intended.

In the revised design we have addressed the theme and other concerns relating to the play space. The design aims to provide a range of play equipment for all ages and abilities.

Key features of the new design

We also heard safety concerns related mostly to Glenroy Road. Road works are beyond the scope of this project, however, parking restrictions have been enacted in the entry car park to remove large vehicle from using this space. A disability access car park has been provided. Future plans to upgrade the pavilion car park will provide further DDA parking and access paths to the playground.

Council is exploring funding options to extend the design to create a dedicated all-abilities play space. The proposal is subject to funding and would not occur in this financial year. See the diagram below showing the proposed area.
