What is planned?

We are upgrading the park and existing playspace at Morris Reserve in Pascoe Vale South.

We are planning:

  • An improved playspace
  • Possible extension of the playspace area so we can include a wider range of equipment
  • Possible repositioning of the playspace further away from the road
  • An improved gathering space
  • Possible fitness equipment stations
  • Upgraded seating
  • Various park infrastructure improvements
  • Additional garden beds and shade trees.

Following completion of phase 1 consultation, we have issued a consultation summary report. This can be found under the Document Library section on this webpage. We are now developing the draft concept plan using your feedback. Once ready it will be displayed on this webpage.

  • Phase 2: draft concept plan

After we have heard from the community we will prepare a draft concept plan for your feedback.

  • Phase 3: final design

After your feedback on the draft concept plan, the final concept plan will be issued.

How can the community influence this project?

What can be influenced?

  • What type of play equipment would you like to see included?
  • Where would you like to see seating in this reserve?
  • Inclusion of other elements (like fitness equipment) if this suits community needs.

What can't be changed?

  • The location of the playspace will need to be determined by Council.
  • Very large play elements (like flying foxes) cannot be included in the playspace as there is limited space.
  • Which park infrastructure upgrades will be determined by Council.
  • Active sports elements (like sports fields, pavilions, changing rooms etc) cannot be included in this upgrade.
  • No trees will be removed as part of this upgrade, unless they are found to be dead or in decline
  • This upgrade will only cover the reserve area, not the surrounding streets.
  • The final concept design must fit within the available budget.
