The first stage of engagement to inform our concept designHope Street streetscape improvements was open from 18 February - 18 March 2025.

The engagement activities consisted of an online survey, an in-person information and feedback sessions, and direct conversation with key stakeholders.

309 survey responses were submitted.

How your feedback influenced these designs

During that first round of community engagement, we asked our community to share their experiences using Hope Street and their ideas for improving the precinct.

We also asked the community what improvements they would like to see made to Hope Street. This feedback provided us with key community priorities for improving Hope Street.

These priorities are:

The Breese Street precicnt

In November 2024, we asked our community to provide similar feedback to create a plan for the Breese Street precinct improvements. This included Hope Street east of the Upfield Rail Corridor.

Hope Street east was included in the Breese Street Precinct community engagement due to the difference in population density, and the inherent difference of the streetscape east of the Rail Corridor.

As these projects are so geographically aligned, design options have been considered together. During this consideration the decision was made to separate Hope Street from our concept designs for Breese Street.

Our designs for Hope Street now include the full length of the street.

This feedback has directly informed the proposed designs for streetscape works for Hope Street.
