Location options - Glenroy
Find out more about the preferred location for a dog park in Glenroy, and the alternate options
We heard that you want fenced dog parks in Glenroy and Fawkner. In 2021 Council resolved to begin consultation on 2 dog parks in the north. These new fenced dog parks will support the growing demands in the north of Merri-bek.
We have a preferred location in each area, however, have proposed two alternate locations in both Glenroy and Fawkner. We want you to vote on your preferred location for each dog park.
The results will help inform our decision. We will create concept designs for each fenced dog park. They will be open for community comment.
Responding to growing demand for dog parks in the north of the municipality, Council has agreed to create two new fenced dog parks as part of council's Open Space Strategy. Glenroy and Fawkner suburbs were selected owing to greatest demand from these areas.
Council's Open Space team has assessed possible locations within Glenroy and Fawkner and identified spots appropriate for fenced dog parks which would not cause conflict with other park users.
The Open Space team will use the voting information to help inform and develop a draft concept plan for each dog park. This will then be provided to the community for your comments.
Once the concept plans have been refined through consultation, we will develop detailed designs and proceed to construction in 2023.
