We are investing in our early years facilities to meet the needs of our growing population.
These building upgrades and expansions are being completed in partnership with the State Government to support the Best Start Best Life initiatives.
Merri-bek’s Early Years Infrastructure Plan and Kindergarten Infrastructure and Services Plan will drive the planning and targeted delivery of the building projects.

Dunstan Reserve Child Care Centre Expansion
We are enlarging the centre to cater for future kindergarten programs as part of the State Government’s Best Start, Best Life initiative.
Brunswick Early Years Hub
We are building a new Early Years Hub on Albert Street, Brunswick that will include Maternal and Child Health, child care and playgroup service.

Doris Blackburn Preschool upgrade
A new kindergarten room and playground area have been added to Doris Blackburn Preschool in Pascoe Vale South.

Derby Street Children's Centre Upgrade
The refurbishment and expansion of the Derby Street Children’s Centre has rebuilt the existing 4-year-old kindergarten room and provided an additional kindergarten room with 27 places.

Oak Park Kindergarten Upgrade
The kindergarten expansion provided an additional 33 place kindergarten room and improved staff amenities.

Pascoe Vale Community Centre upgrade
The existing kindergarten and maternal child health centre located at Pascoe Vale Community Centre has been refurbished providing an extra 33 kindergarten places.

Merri-bek City Council acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional custodians of the lands and waterways in the area now known as Merri-bek, and pays respect to their Elders past and present, as well as to all First Nations’ communities who significantly contribute to the life of the area.
