Do you have a great initiative for a one-off community program or project?

This is your chance to submit a project, initiative, or program that Council could include as part of the 2023/24 Budget.

A proposed total of $250,000 is available (subject to Council budget adoption) as part of the Community Budget Ideas Program.

Merri-bek residents, community groups, sporting clubs, businesses and organisations are all welcome to contribute.

Selection criteria

Your initiative must:

  • demonstrate a strong community benefit
  • align to a strategy or policy of the Council Plan 2021 - 2025
  • cost less than $160,000
  • be deliverable in the 2023/24 financial year

Please note, as per the terms and conditions, we will only accept one submission per individual/group.

How does it work?

Merri-bek City Council acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional custodians of the lands and waterways in the area now known as Merri-bek, and pays respect to their Elders past, present, and emerging, as well as to all First Nations’ communities who significantly contribute to the life of the area.
