Brunswick Central Parklands final plan is now available to view

7 June 2023

We have now prepared the final plan to improve Brunswick Central Parklands. The plan aims to balance the all the ways our community uses the parklands and improve access to all. It also includes improvements to integrated water management and the preservation of biodiversity in the area. Thanks to everyone who participated throughout the consultation. The feedback we received informed the development of the final plan, including these key changes from the first draft:

  • Expansion of the fenced dog park in Gilpin Park has now been removed from the Actions.
  • Evening performances in the park will be limited to weekends to reduce noise levels in the park.
  • Details about Council’s work on the proposed overshadowing open space amendment have been added.
  • Commercial activation and pop up cafes have been removed from the Plan.
  • The sportsfield lighting in the park will be investigated in order to coordinate time of use and minimise annoyance.
  • Changing the car parking restrictions on Albert and Victoria streets will be considered to improve fair access for visitors to the park.
  • Smaller changes have been made to include drainage for drinking fountains, and fencing in Clifton Park.
