Council purchased the properties at 41-43 Service Street in Coburg as part of Merri-bek’s ‘Park Close To Home’ Strategy.
We are creating a new park in this space for the local community to enjoy and we want you to help us name it!
After a community submissions process, Council created a shortlist of 2 names for the community to vote on. They are displayed below in alphabetical order.
Both names come from the local Woi-wurrung language.
meaning shell
meaning friend place
All votes will be counted, the name with the majority of votes will become the official name of the park (subject to Council approval).
Voting closes 5pm Monday 20 November 2023.
Naming processes and procedures are undertaken in accordance with the statutory Naming Rules for Places in Victoria.
