Revised concept plan for public space area
We listened to your feedback from the draft concept design and the voting exercise, reflected in this revised concept plan.
As we had mixed responses on including a playspace and owing to proximity of playspaces at Harmony Park and Hosken Reserve, this design focuses on a pump track, larger gathering space and planting.
This proposed upgrade includes:
- A larger earth-mounds pump track for kids on scooters/bikes and musical play (mini bongo drums). No playspace included on this option.
- Improved barrier fencing along road frontage of pump track.
- A larger gathering space including BBQ with shelter, picnic setting, seating with shade tree and bike racks near existing fitness equipment.
- An accessible public toilet.
- Additional shade trees and garden beds with shrubs.
- New vehicle path for maintenance and events access to the velodrome area. Existing pedestrian access paths and waste bin retained.
