We are on track to having the design of the new bridge finalised by early 2026. At the moment we are making sure the design and the engineering are working well together.

Lighting design for the bridge and surrounding area has been completed. We focused on enhancing safety at the same time as minimising the impact on local wildlife. We are also looking at locations for seating and benches and choosing the colour scheme for the new bridge.

Construction is scheduled to start in June or July 2026. Early in 2026 we will also call for community suggestions for a name for the new bridge.
