What is the Merri-bek Youth Panel?

The Youth Panel ran alongside the Community Panel and was made up of 24 young people, ages 12-16 years. The aim was to harness the insights and perspectives of younger residents who will be impacted by the 10 year term of the Community Vision.

This initiative supported young people to actively participate in local decision-making and promotes intergenerational dialogue and understanding.

The establishment of a Youth Panel supported Councils obligation as a Child Safe organisation and empowers young people about their rights and opportunity to participate in decisions affecting them.
