The first stage of engagement to inform our concept designs for the Breese Street streetscape improvement was open from 7 November to 9 December 2024.

The engagement activities consisted of an online survey, 2 in-person information and feedback sessions, and direct conversation with key stakeholders. We:

How your feedback influenced these designs

In late 2024, we asked our community to share their experiences using Breese Street and their ideas for improving the precinct.

This feedback provided us with key community priorities for improving Breese Street. These priorities are:

We have incorporated these community priorities into both of our concept designs.

Each concept design has its own unique approach to addressing other community feedback, though there are some proposed changes that are the same across both designs.

The 2 designs each have 1 major unique feature. These are: conversion to a one-way street in Concept Design 1, and installation of a shared zone in Concept Design 2.

These design choices were directly informed by community feedback:

  • 25% of survey responses proposed that Breese Street be converted to a one-way street (Concept design 1)
  • 20% of survey responses proposed that Breese Street incorporate a shared zone (Concept design 2)
