Council is committed to improving our sports fields to support local clubs, community use, and future demand. As part of this commitment, we are upgrading Allard Park Oval.

Allard Park is home to the North Brunswick Football Club, Brunswick Cricket Club, and the Brunswick Ultimate Disc Society. In 2024 we spoke to the community about the introduction of sports field lighting; this has since been completed and the North Brunswick Football Club will be using these for their upcoming winter season.

Through a recent audit, we found that the oval required rectification works and environmental improvements.

The Proposed Project Scope

  • Resurface and enhance the playing field to optimise consistency, drainage, and overall playability, incorporating slight modification to its shape.
  • Install automated irrigation system
  • Install subsurface drainage.
  • Install a rootzone sand profile with a drainage profile.
  • Replace with new AFL football goals.
  • Install a new natural turf 5-wicket table.
  • Install two new coach boxes and one umpire enclosure.
  • 5 new outdoor seats around the outside of the ground.
  • Grass the surface with Santa Ana couch.

Items In Provision (Included as an optional or estimated component of the project, subject to further review, approvals, and available budget)

  • Install a new digital video display scoreboard and replay system.
  • Remove and replace fence along Donald Street.
