Progress Update

The need for a register was identified in our Urban Forest Strategy . A study was undertaken in 2021 that identified 492 trees as being particularly special to the character of Merri-bek. A further review was completed in 2022, and the 298 properties that were home to trees that were found to meet the National Trust Register of Significant Trees criteria were notified that the trees on their property were listed on the Merri-bek Significant Tree Register.
