Join Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung Heritage Aboriginal Corporation and Moreland City Council for a historic renaming ceremony to kick off NAIDOC Week.

Our endorsed Wurundjeri -Woi-wurrung name for Moreland City Council will be announced on the day.

Activities include a traditional smoking ceremony, Welcome to Country, cultural performances and a children’s activities.

Light refreshments will be served.

No bookings required.

This event will incorporate a Special Council Meeting where the community feedback on the renaming will be presented and Council will determine the preferred name. The recommendation is for Merri-bek.
