Construction work at 14 Frith Street has progressed since the last update:

  • The Bouldering Wall is in place but under cover for now.
  • The building on the corner of Howarth and Frith Streets is nearly complete. We are seeking a tenant to sign up for lease. It’s expected the tenant will do the internal fitout once the finishing touches to the externals are made early in the new year.
  • Work on the ‘green’ park entry from Howarth Street is taking shape with recycled brick cladding to the ‘sun steps’ partially completed.

Works on site have been put on hold due to complications with the existing brick walls in the southern, foundry park area.

The need for additional revised engineering design has been identified for foundry walls and footings, which requires more extensive demolition time and re-building works. This means there needs to be amendments made to the revised building permit. That process is expected to be complete at the end of February 2024.

Once the revised building permit is issued, we will be working with the building contractor on resuming demolition of the foundry walls and footings in March 2024. We expect the works will be completed in the first half of 2024, subject to unforeseen conditions, including weather.
