New tree pits have been constructed and it’s time to plant trees in them!
Our urban forest team have taken great care in selecting three suitable tree species to be planted into these new tree pits taking into consideration elements such as climate change, urban heat island, and the specific limitations of each planting site.
We need your opinion to ensure that the project aligns with the needs and preferences of the community. Let us know in the form below what your preferred tree species are.
You will find information about each proposed tree species further down the page.
About the project
- We will be consulting directly with residents and property owners on McKay Street, Brunswick.
- McKay Street residents and property owners will have the opportunity select one of 3 trees to be planted on the west side of the street and one of 3 trees to be planted on the east side of the street.
- The trees will be planted in tree pits that have been installed on the footpath
- The trees are suitable for our future climate, drought tolerant, disease resistant and be a combination of evergreen and deciduous to address concerns of over-shading.
- The proposed trees are listed below with images and information to help you choose your preference.
