We wanted to gather information from you about the accessibility barriers you experience in Merri-bek. This included activity centres, open spaces, and local neighbourhoods.

The data we collected is important for planning the next steps in removing access barriers in Merri-bek. They help identify hazard areas and shape priorities as we plan and design for the removal of these barriers.

The question we asked when we were gathering feedback

Do you know a location where it is difficult to get around?

We want to know about it. By working with the community, we can identify some of the areas in Merri-bek that cause issues.

We are compiling a map of places that are inaccessible. These are places that have physical barriers for people with a disability:

  • no footpaths,
  • no access ramps,
  • steep paths, etc.

    • Or other difficulties for anyone to move around:

  • difficulties in crossing the street,
  • dark streets,
  • dangerous areas for kids,
  • narrow footpaths, etc.
