Engagement Findings Update

We’re replacing and upgrading the Harding Street Bridge to make it safer, more accessible and more user friendly.

In April 2024, we wrapped up a 5 week community consultation on the design of our new Harding Street bridge.

During this period, more than 450 community members submitted their feedback in-person, online and via phone or email.

What you liked about the updated design:

  • Wider bridge deck
  • Improved safety
  • Improved accessibility, especially for people with mobility impairments

Merri-bek City Council and Darebin City Council are now working to incorporate this community feedback into the detailed design for the new bridge.

We are planning to start construction in mid-2025.
