Our work around fair access builds on these efforts and we want your help.
We want hear about the experiences of women, girls, and gender-diverse people when accessing sports and recreation in our community. We want to understand what could be done to make our clubs and facilities even more accessible.
We recognise that there are many factors that may affect participation like:
Your feedback help us ensure that facilities and programs are responsive to the needs of our diverse community.
We also have a survey for children and young people with some fun activities and questions.
This survey can be downloaded and printed or a hard copy can be picked up from one of our libraries or customer service centres.
You can drop the completed survey into the box provided at these locations or email a copy to recreation@merri-bek.vic.gov.au
The Fair Access Roadmap aims to develop a state-wide foundation for gender equitable access to, and use of, community sports infrastructure for women and girls, to support participation in community sport and active recreation across Victoria.

This survey is part of Council's commitment to the Fair Access Roadmap, which seeks to measure equitable access to community sports infrastructure and improve experiences for women, girls, and gender-diverse people. Council will update this page with the results of this survey and then run the same survey again in 2027 to measure changes. This is a requirement under the State Governments Fair Access Roadmap.
